Mike Lockwood, PA
"I try to treat every patient the way I would want my mother to be treated. There are so many ways to practice medicine, and we need to be sensitive to what our patients want to do. I offer options, and let the patient and the family decide how to proceed.”
In 1995, while working on a “temporary” assignment in Dr. Donald Murphy’s office (one of the original founders of the IPC/Senior Care practice), Mike Lockwood realized he had found his true calling in geriatric medicine. He never went back to the Emergency Room.
Mike was among the first certified physician assistants. He served as a Chief Warrant Officer in the Navy in the late 1970s and also served in Viet Nam.
Mike has a bachelor's degree from the University of Nebraska and an MS from Troy State University. In addition to hands-on patient care, Mike has also served as a hospital CEO during his healthcare career.
