Teodor Huzij, DO
"Growing up with a father who had me later in his life has allowed me to feel comfortable interacting with seniors. It’s important to me to offer this population an uncompromising level of great care, partnering with patients to optimize their physical, mental, and spiritual health."
A Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), Dr. Teodor Huzij became interested in psychology while in high school, and a strong grounding in this area informs his work in osteopathic psychiatry and osteopathic manipulative medicine within the post-acute care setting.
Taking a whole-person approach is central to Dr. Huzij’s practice: “The idea of treating each person as a unit made up of a body, mind, and spirit guides my daily interactions with patients,” he says. “Overall health occurs when all three of these components are acting optimally, when we’re physically healthy, mentally healthy, and spiritually healthy.”
Dr. Huzij received an undergraduate degree in psychology from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and a DO from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Missouri. He holds certifications from the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry and the American Osteopathic Board of Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine. Dr. Huzij has been practicing since 2000.
Dr. Huzij is passionate about teaching and mentoring, and he also enjoys dancing, even if it happens while taking a spin around in the living room with his wife and two daughters. He’s active in his church community and stays active in the outdoors, too, cycling and skiing with his family.
